This past week, I had the pleasure to go into the studio and talk with one of the biggest names in the Detroit Hip Hop scene, Drew32. I trekked from Detroit, all the way to the safe confines of Auburn Hills to create some music with him, along with an R&B/Jazz Artist by the name of Asante. These two guys truly know what has to be done in order to create great pieces of music. I sat down with Drew32 and talked about his latest project, “Label Me.” While we did manage to create some great music together, it also turned into an impromptu interview about the mixtape. Since I do write a music blog, I had to talk to him about it. When I first heard of Drew32, I wondered how did he get the name and how has his music progressed from when he first started out in his rap career, up until now. As an artist, and as a lyricist, Drew32 has truly grown as such and the fact that his latest project was hosted by DJ Skee is a pretty huge deal. He has already turned heads in the industry and will continue to do so. With tracks he has produced and the work he has done with Royce Da 5’9” and having his music hosted by Big Sean’s tour DJ, DJ Mo Beatz twice in a row, and the fact that his work ethic is beyond measure, there is no doubt that Mr. Drew32 himself will make a staple within the music industry.
